MMO Are Future

There's no reason why MMO can't become best game genre. And there's plenty of reasons why it will.

Top Reasons Why MMO Are The Future Of Gaming

It's more obvious than you think.

If you left someone on empty island, where he won't meet other people and therefore he won't interact with them in any way, what would he do?

Some would suicide, but it's sure that he would go crazy sooner or later. And most likely, he would be dying out of boredom and lack of human contact, just after few weeks (or maybe even days)?

Regardless of the fact that there would be lot of things to do, chopping trees, hunting animals, fishing, swimming, building home in cave, etc., literal "Rust IRL" - he would still become bored in a matter of days or weeks.

And that's how single player games work. No matter how much great content you add to them. They will be funny only for a while.

A lot of players may not understand it yet, but trust me they will. Today's kids starts playing PUBG Battle Royale game the moment they become 7 year old (or sooner).

They know the feeling of competitioon and multiplayer entertainment at such a young age, do you really think they will bother with single player games?

Most important things MMOs have that Single Player games don't

  1. Competition:
There's nothing better than competition! We, as human beings, need some competition in life, people chase it all the time whether they know it or not!

For example, competition in finding better partner than your friends, in getting better job than your peers, or dominating your enemy (althrough we don't do that anymore, that's why games are for, so we can do that ethically and legally).

  2.  In games, you have a lot of competition going on, in various forms. Such as, obtaining better items than ur rivals, or stealing all the loot from group hunting a boss. Or soloing him, while your friends need to do it together. Or, even better, player-killing someone, or group of people, and becoming "known" on the game server and community, for being one of best players.

Rivalization is one more big reason for players to repeat boring grind, and to care less about dull game flaws. You want to be better than ur friends and other players, and that's why you will grind more, and try to get better items, to soon take control of the server.

  3. Interaction:
Althrough most MMOs even in 2019 have very poor interaction, such as Party mode, where u share experience and loot, and get level up and items faster than when doing solo. Which is great idea, but it's done as simple as it could be, all u have to do is do few mouse clicks, boom you are in party, nothing changes except exp and loot obtaining speed.

Other forms of interaction include trading items with players (again, poorly made usually), and group player killing.

Interaction and teamwork is important, but most games don't utilize enough of it's possibilities. For example, forced interaction in MOBA games like League of Legends, works more than GREAT, oh how many totally AWESOME actions i had there, playing with total strangers, not even texting or speaking with them, just using in-game pings.

It's also bad part about MOBA games because players eventually get fed up with getting bad teams and leave. There's no "man up" aspect, or there is, but it can only last so long. I mean, why would players lose games and ladder/rivalization points because their team (of strangers randomly picked by game) is bad? Solution is to find pro players to always team up, which is hard because most people have their lives, and usually youre just left with your IRL friends, who may not be best players.

Other solution is to change game. But anyway, the fact is, that MOBA games have beautiful interaction, and MMOs should inherit some of that, minus the "FORCED" part.

Reward players for playing with other players, in teams, guilds, groups and duos, but don't punish single players for not doing so, and don't force everyone into teamwork with strangers, where frustration is going to happen in huge numbers (like MOBA games do).

Therefore, invent more features based on player interaction. Not only trading, guild pvp, partying during grinding - these are so 2005. Inven for example, fast shooting cannons of big range, where one person brings u the ammo, other aims, and another shoots, but also keep cannons for single players.

And the conclusion?

These are main core reasons why multiplayer games are the future. It's just funnier, more entertaining, it boils our blood more.
